Balluff - BVS CA-SF Technical Documentation
|
The BVS CA-SF is a high-performance camera which requires a high data throughput on the host system, for example, when processing large amount of image data and high CPU resources if processing color images on the host PC.
For this reason we recommend the following components:
Component | Recommendation |
Processor | Preferably multi core Intel or ARM CPUs |
RAM | 4 GB in 32-bit OS; 8 GB in 64-bit OS |
Mainboard | Latest PC architecture and chipset |
Several USB3 extension cards or adapters for PCs and Notebooks have been successfully tested by Balluff. Please ask our support team.
There is a huge variety of ARM based devices available in the market. Some suitable platforms have been tested by Balluff and a summary of the results of this test can be found here: Appendix C. Tested ARM platforms
Please ask your system vendor for further advice and consult our technical documentation.
For more information about USB3 related settings on Linux, please have a look at the troubleshooting chapter Optimizing USB Performance .
The following operating system are supported officially:
Other Windows versions might work as well but will not be tested on a regular basis.
The latest version for the required target platform of the Impact Acquire framework can always be found here: https://www.balluff.com/en-de/products/MP18308637.
Currently supported Kernel versions are:
In case the target system runs an older Linux kernel, it is absolutely necessary to update the kernel to at least version 3.5.0. Please refer to the documentation of your Linux distribution for information on how to update your system's Linux kernel.
All Kernels starting from version 3.5.0 should work without problems.
