Optimizing Network Performance

This section is only relevant for applications working with GigE Vision™ or other (Balluff/MATRIX VISION) network devices!

Besides the host system requirements, to achieve the desired data rates fine-tuning the network environment might be required.

There are two locations where you can adapt the parameters concerning the network environment:

1. on the camera's side using ImpactControlCenter or the API
2. on the network interface card's side using the operating system's possibilities to adjust driver parameters

Note

Only network experts should change settings in the following section. However it is highly recommend to optimize the network settings so this should be done! Another important aspect when dealing with GigE Vision™ devices is described here.
