A GigE Vision™ compliant device can be configured to

• use a persistent IP address (if supported by the device) and/or
• use DHCP to obtain an IP address

Since the GigE Vision™ standard requires LLA to be enabled at all times the "Use LLA" control will never become modifiable.

In the above image it can also be seen, why configuring both persistent and DHCP IP might be a valid setup: In case the persistent IP address for any reason has not been assigned successfully, a device could then still ask a DHCP server for a valid IPv4 address.
