The 'Untrusted publisher' Dialog Box Appears When Installing A Driver On Windows 7 Or Windows Server 2008 R2

Cause

Since Impact Acquire 2.15.2 files will be signed using a SHA256 certificate as required/recommended by Microsoft since 01.01.2016. Windows versions smaller than Windows 8 however do not fully support SHA256 certificates so some hotfixes are needed.

Resolution

Install the following Windows patches(in THIS order):

  • KB3033929
  • KB2921916
