Impact Acquire SDK C
Using Third-Party GigE Vision™ and/or USB3 Vision™ Devices

Although Impact Acquire has been designed to support mainly Balluff/MATRIX VISION cameras, its GenTL Producer and all applications that are using it are able to support third-party GigE Vision™ / USB3 Vision™ compliant devices as well.

However, since version 3.0.0, the use of third-party GigE Vision™ / USB3 Vision™ devices has been restricted. It is still possible to

  • evaluate their usability within Impact Acquire for up to 200 images after opening a streaming device
  • use them in a unlimited way if they are non-streaming devices

For streaming devices, all images after the 200th image are scrambled and receive an image overlay.

Nevertheless, it is possible to purchase a WIBU CodeMeter-based usage license for these camera types for Windows x64 as well as for Linux x86_64-based systems for a certain number of cameras in the Balluff web shop. On the target system, you have to install the Wibu CodeMeter runtime and deploy the license to it. Details are provided on the corresponding web shop page. With this kind of licensing, applications written in any programming language are supported.

Note
An additional, more specialized licensing method is also available on more operating systems, but it will only be provided under exceptional circumstances. It is restricted to C/C++-based applications and is based on static linking. Contact our support for more information on the relevance for you.
