The virtual device package of the Impact Acquire SDK is meant to allow developers to evaluate SDK functions and even implement hardware specific parts without the actual being hardware installed yet. The virtual device can either generate various test patterns or can capture images from the local hard disk and therefore a real use-case can be simulated. Afterwards the actual hardware can be installed and used very quickly.
